  • Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo: March 13 at 11:51 PM PST

  • Mercury Retrograde: In Aries from March 14–28, then in Pisces from March 29–April 7.

I think, for the next month, we need to take it easy, slow down, and be kind to ourselves. There’s a lot happening in the stars during this eclipse, and it can feel heavy. So take a moment—breathe in deeply, and exhale slowly.

First, let me ask: Have you felt more anxious this year? How has your anxiety been?
If you’ve been feeling the weight of your thoughts, know that you’re not alone.

This eclipse season, shaped by Virgo on the South Node and Pisces on the North Node, has been mentally overwhelming and overstimulating. Virgo and Pisces are both signs that can struggle with anxiety, so that energy is in the air.

Virgo, more so than Pisces, experiences anxiety due to an active mind that constantly seeks to fix, perfect, and organize. It craves practicality, efficiency, and clarity, often driven by a deep inner fear of failure or losing control.

However, with the North Node in Pisces, losing control is exactly the energy that is growing and where we are headed. Pisces moves through life with instinct, imagination, faith, and hope. Its anxiety stems from an expansive imagination that can spiral too far or from its inability to separate itself from the energies of those around it. During this eclipse season, reality and logical reasoning may feel harder to grasp—both in the world around us and within our own minds. And that can be unsettling.

The First Eclipse: A Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo and the Retrogrades

The first eclipse of this season is a total lunar eclipse on the South Node in Virgo. This full moon eclipse brings up deep internal fears—of failure, of losing control—and an urge to make sense of things and take action to fix them. But with the Moon conjunct the South Node, our bodies, minds, and emotions are drained. Limiting fears, anxieties, and melancholy may surface, many of which have been building up over time. What we are trying to fix or hold onto may feel like it’s slipping through our fingers. And this will be felt in the area your chart ruled by Virgo. Thoughts like "How can this work out?" "It’s not good enough," or "If I could just fix this first" may be running through your mind. You might find yourself replaying the past, searching for ways to rewrite it.

But with this eclipse on the South Node, things may slow down, lessen, end, or have to be released in the part of your chart ruled by Virgo. And often, this is out of our control. But, what we can work to control is our mindset.

What is growing in our lives is tied to the North Node, where Pisces is in our charts. During the eclipse on the 13th, the Sun is conjunct Saturn in Pisces, making us feel the weight of responsibility. We are trying to bring structure to our dreams and ideals, represented by the Pisces area of our charts. We are acutely aware of time—and how little of it we seem to have. There’s also a heavy sense of duty, possibly tied to authority figures or conditioning from father figures.

So with this eclipse, we are feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. And unfortunately, that exhaustion isn’t just from the South Node’s depleting effect.

  • Mars in Cancer brings inconsistent energy levels, where emotions dictate stamina.

  • Venus retrograde pulls us inward, prompting us to reassess our values, reflect on past relationships, and rethink our finances.

  • The day after this eclipse, Mercury goes retrograde. Retrograde planets slow us down—we can’t move forward with our usual efficiency, and it may feel like we simply don’t have enough fuel to push ahead.

A Reminder to Slow Down

I’m not saying this to alarm you but to remind you that you are not alone. It’s okay to slow down, take a break, or cut back.

This eclipse will bring shifts—gradually or suddenly—particularly in the area of life ruled by Virgo in your chart. And, as with all eclipses, control is not entirely in our hands. Instead of trying to fix or perfect everything, consider embracing your creative, intuitive side. Have compassion for yourself and others—after all, nothing is truly perfect. Seek out what brings you joy and let that be the fuel that moves you forward. Find ways to quiet your mind and connect with something greater than yourself. And let go of anything that drains you or compromises your mental health.

With Mercury in retrograde, plans may be delayed. Issues with communication, information, transportation, and technology may cause the need for things to be reworked. Because mercury rules Virgo, this retrograde may be a time to heal and understand what truly needs to be released. It also gives us a chance to refine aspects of our lives. know, you have time. Your thoughts are not your reality—but if you dwell on them long enough, they can become so.

Patience is essential during this eclipse and retrograde period, especially when Venus and Mercury are retrograde in Aries. Aries is known for its ambition, impatience, and fast-paced action. However, with the retrogrades, we will encounter roadblocks, urging us to slow down.

So take a spa day. Go for a walk. Cuddle a pet. Show yourself love. It’s okay to pause, reassess, and return with renewed energy.

Losing control, letting go, and slowing down can be beautiful. Ironically, when you surrender and go with the flow, you may find that, in the end, you have more control over your happiness than you ever imagined—and life begins to settle into place.

If you’d like to know how this eclipse season affects you, book a reading. I would love to help.
